Meet Mama Florence

Mama Florence, an 82-year-old widow, has always been a symbol of quiet strength and determination. Despite living with severe arthritis, she used her old sewing machine to craft shopping bags from recycled rice sacks—selling them at the local market to buy food and maintain a small measure of independence.

One day, while riding a motorbike taxi, tragedy struck. The motorbike slipped, throwing her to the ground. Her sewing machine was destroyed, and the bike fell onto her legs, worsening her arthritis and leaving her unable to work. Overnight, she lost her only source of income, and her situation became desperate.

Then something beautiful happened. Thanks to the generosity of a compassionate donor, we were able to provide Mama Florence with a brand-new sewing machine. The relief and gratitude on her face were unforgettable. With this simple tool, she can once again sew, sell her bags, and support herself despite her physical challenges.
