What Our Widows Do
Training Center
At our center, widows learn practical and income-generating skills. They create products such as toothpaste, leather bags, school bags, and other handmade items that can be sold within their communities.
Community Shop
Our shop provides a vital marketplace where widows sell their handmade goods and also resell essential food items like noodles, rice, spices, chicken, and chicken feed. This creates daily income and strengthens their financial independence.
Agricultural Production
On our four plots of farmland, widows cultivate a variety of food and cash crops—corn, cassava, yam, ginger, banana, vegetables, cocoa, and more. From cassava, they also produce and sell garri, a staple food that provides steady income.
Hotel Operations
Widows rotate through different roles in the organization’s small hotel, participating in cleaning tasks, shopping for kitchen supplies, and supporting chefs with meal preparation. This provides valuable work experience and diversified income opportunities.
Bread Production
Our shop produces bread buns, adding yet another income source to support the widows and their families.
More Than Work—A Community of Support
Beyond practical tasks, widows gather regularly for mutual support. They sing, pray, share their burdens, and help each other in times of need. This sense of belonging is just as impactful as the financial empowerment.
